  • We are seeking an Education Officer for Global Citizenship to support our post-primary education programme.

The role involves providing capacity-building support to schools in Munster, facilitating their engagement with the WWGS Global Passport framework, and monitoring their progress. The officer will be responsible for event management, including the annual student conference, and contribute to data collection and reporting requirements.

You will work closely with teachers, principals, and students to promote understanding of global issues and equip them with knowledge, skills, and values to act for change. Your excellent communication, facilitation, and organisational skills will enable you to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • GCE Capacity Building & Support:
    • Support schools in adopting a whole-school approach to GCE through the WWGS Global Passport framework.
    • Design and deliver in-school GCE support and CPD for teachers.
    • Contribute to preparing and delivering regional and national teacher CPD events.
    • Maintain an up-to-date cloud database of engagements with and support to schools.
  • WWGS Global Passport:
    • Support post-primary settings to explore GCE using the Global Passport.
    • Recruit new post-primary settings to engage with WWGS and GCE through Global Passport Applications.
    • Raise awareness about the WWGS Global Passport through various channels.
    • Appraise Global Passport applications received annually from post-primary settings.
  • Event Management:
    • Liaise with the team to develop a plan for the annual student conference.
    • Secure expert speakers and facilitators for the conference.
    • Coordinate conference activities, including budgeting and logistics.
  • Monitoring/Reporting/Promoting:
    • Support data collection and reporting requirements for Irish Aid.
    • Communicate WWGS post-primary settings activity on social media.
    • Represent WWGS at various events and with stakeholders.
