This Electrical Engineer II position is part of a talented team that specializes in designing and directing electrical engineering projects within the Design Department. As an Electrical Engineer II, you will work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Job Summary: Assist in planning, designing, and directing electrical engineering projects, focusing on smaller, less complex tasks and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare accurate engineering documents, including designs, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Evaluate engineering formulas and calculations to determine lighting, power distribution, equipment sizing, and other critical factors for successful project execution.
  • Prepare specialized drawings, such as electrical riser diagrams, to visualize complex systems and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Select equipment based on recommendations from Project Designer/Engineers and maintain records of specifications and schedules.
  • Collaborate with drafters to create sketches and incorporate them into drawings, maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Conduct research on design options, document findings, and provide recommendations to Project Designer/Engineers.
  • Maintain open communication with Project Managers regarding workload, project scope changes, and additional services required.
  • Provide valuable input to Project Managers for incorporation into specifications, ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with code officials to clarify any questions or concerns related to code issues and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain a well-organized workspace, allowing efficient access to information and facilitating collaboration among team members.
  • Verify that drawings and designs meet company production and design standards, guaranteeing high-quality results.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering/design, preferably in building design, with knowledge of lighting systems, fire alarm systems, branch circuitry, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in computer operation for engineering design programs, including AutoCAD/Revit, and general knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.
  • Possession of Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly desirable.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires frequent fieldwork at client sites, where you will engage in activities related to construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non-administrative areas.
