Communication Specialist

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to promote the organization's mission and objectives.

  • Coordinate and manage internal and external communications, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communication.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and messaging across all channels.

  • Design and develop engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, and website articles, to showcase the organization's work and impact.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and media representatives.

  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, social media trends, and other relevant metrics to inform communication strategies and optimize results.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in communications to continuously improve our approach.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and channels.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and interpret data to inform communication decisions.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other relevant software tools, with willingness to learn new technologies and systems.

  • Relevant degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
