Job Opportunity in General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled Registar to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of adult patients with mental health disorders across community settings.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, developing advanced clinical and professional skills while providing high-quality care to patients. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

\

This is a temporary position (3 months) with the possibility of extension. The salary scale for this post is €68,891 - €81,126 per annum. Additional remuneration for on-call duties and overtime as applicable depending on rota. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and 10 public holidays. Hours: 37 hours per week, plus on-call supplements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients with a range of psychiatric conditions.\
  • Participate in the on-call rota for General Adult Psychiatry (covering inpatients, emergency referrals, and liaison psychiatry).\
  • Contribute to care planning and case management in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).\
  • Conduct regular ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and community follow-up clinics under consultant supervision.\
  • Liaise with primary care teams, emergency services, and voluntary/community organisations involved in mental health support.\
