Electrical Design Project Lead Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Design Project Lead to join our Engineering team. This role involves overseeing the electrical substation design process on major Power and Renewable projects.

Key Responsibilities:

">
  • ">
  • Ownership of electrical substation design, including primary and secondary designs, calculations, and procurement specifications.">
  • Leading team members, monitoring progress against costs and programme.">
  • Reviewing and approving team submissions in advance of issue, identifying opportunities for value engineering.">
  • Supporting team members on projects as assigned throughout each contract.">
  • Taking ownership and actively managing substation design projects when required.">
  • Identifying design risks and proposing mitigation techniques.">
  • Ensuring design outputs meet technical, quality, and safety standards.">

Requirements:

">
  • ">
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.">
  • At least 7 years' hands-on experience.">
  • Good knowledge of software: AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office; experience with design studies and cable design software is an advantage.">
  • Strong understanding of the substation, utilities, and renewables sector.">
  • Understanding of design/construction interfacing requirements.">
  • Excellent client-facing skills.">
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team.">
  • Familiarity with ESB/Eirgrid specifications and design requirements is an advantage.">
  • Open to innovation and collaboration.">
  • Proactive with the ability to think ahead.">
