The Global Compliance Lead position is a critical role that requires ensuring the successful delivery of outsourced services. The ideal candidate will manage teams and people, engage with clients, and oversee process and project management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client, providing expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
  • Develop efficient processes to manage shipments against appropriate timelines and expectations.
  • Monitor changes in customs regulations and industry trends, updating internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and resolve issues effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs brokerage operations.
  • Assess team workload and identify opportunities for automation and productivity improvements.

Requirements

  • University degree in a business-related discipline, such as law, commercial, engineering, or economics.
  • In-depth knowledge of export/import laws and regulations, with experience working in various geographies.
  • Significant years of experience in customs/global trade (export, customs, and/or trade compliance); technology and manufacturing/BPO experience preferred.
  • Operational experience in export/import operations and risk management.
  • Experience managing people across different geographies.
  • Strong project management skills and technological savviness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to operate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude, with a passion for learning and creative problem-solving.
  • Proven service delivery and client stakeholder management skills and experience.
