We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in Galway as a Health and Safety Specialist. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality advisory services to clients and internal teams.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Review designs and risk assessments to ensure compliance with H+S laws.
  • Attend design coordination meetings, site and stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate residual hazards and risks.
  • Provide expert advice to clients and designers on compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Manage contractor safety and review contractor safety documentation.
  • Manage dedicated projects including financial requirements of dedicated projects.
  • Offer general health and safety consultancy services to clients.
  • Provide technical support to all office projects in the areas of design safety.
  • Develop new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Apply quality assurance and environmental management principles in compliance with organisational policies.
  • Assist the Quality, Safety and Sustainability team with continuous improvement of our safety culture and key safety programmes.
Requirements:
  • A relevant degree or diploma in Health and Safety, qualifying for membership of IOSH or Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Ireland with post-qualification Safety specific training.
  • Certificate of attendance at Engineers Ireland/ACEI PSDP CPD training.
  • Sound knowledge of safety in design and construction safety.
  • Experience in developing and improving company safety policies, culture and systems.
  • Competent report writing with good time management skills and ability to prioritise work and manage tasks concurrently across several projects.
  • Flexible to travel to site and projects within Ireland.
  • Full Irish/EU driving licence.
