About the Role

The successful candidate will coordinate health and safety activities across the business. This is a hands-on, varied role offering strong development potential for someone at an early stage of their career.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the implementation of H&S procedures, policies, and compliance programmes.
  2. Liaising with stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation, codes, standards, and industry best practice.
  3. Assisting in inspections, risk assessments, training needs analysis, PPE surveys, and occupational hygiene assessments.
  4. Recording, monitoring, and supporting investigations of incidents and accidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  5. Preparing monthly incident and accident reports for management.
  6. Working with occupational health providers to manage and communicate workplace health risks.
  7. Maintaining accurate H&S records using company systems.
  8. Monitoring site-specific KPIs and contributing to continuous improvement.
  9. Delivering or coordinating training and induction programmes on H&S issues.
  10. Publishing regular communications to promote awareness of safety best practice.
  11. Collaborating with the wider H&S team across multiple sites.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree or higher qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).
  • 1–2 years' experience in a health and safety role, ideally within food, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new systems.
  • Flexible and proactive approach.
