**Job Title:** VAT Director

As a VAT Director, you will play a critical role in providing expert advice on indirect tax matters to clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a management role in practice and comprehensive VAT technical knowledge. They should also have proven experience in client handling, managing a busy portfolio, business development, and converting relationships into fee-paying work.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, capable of leading a team, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. They will work collaboratively with senior management to develop and grow the firm's indirect tax service offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on Indirect Tax Matters: Ensure the provision of technically sound, clear and commercially focussed advice on indirect tax matters.
  • Client Management: Manage a portfolio of indirect tax clients and oversee a compliance portfolio.
  • Business Development: Work with senior management to develop and grow the firm's indirect tax service offering.
  • Operational Management: Contribute to the operational management of the tax business and take responsibility for specific areas as required.
  • Cross-Border Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with other member firms on cross-border projects and business development initiatives.
  • Staff Training: Contribute to the development of technical knowledge and training of staff on indirect taxes.

  • VAT Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive VAT technical knowledge and experience.
  • Client Handling: Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.

  • Leadership Skills: Self-motivated and capable of leading a team.
  • Communication Skills: Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
