
Technical Project Lead

The Product Development Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to the production team to deliver a high-quality, competitive, and profitable product.
- Collaborates with the Operations Team to ensure compliance with established quality standards, process improvements, time-to-market reduction, and technical support.
The role encompasses the following key areas:
- Quality Assurance: Develops work instructions by creating Routers & Operations sheets to ensure requirements are specified. Reviews Engineering Specifications Management (ESM) and Release Documents (RD) to identify and implement changes that affect the company product in accordance with the documentation review procedures. Conducts audits to ensure compliance with specified procedures.
- Product Quality: Promotes the application of best practices to deliver robust processes in repair of products. Establishes and implements Critical-To-Quality (CTQ) metrics to determine and control process stability. Collaborates with Maintenance to define daily, weekly, and monthly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) checks. Leads investigations of process problems, taking corrective action where deviations occur. Investigates and issues written reports on non-conformances related to product quality.
- Process Improvements: Identifies and investigates opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to achieve agreed targets. Obtains internal and external approvals for process improvement changes. Measures and monitors rework costs and reasons, working with the team to achieve target reductions. Measures and monitors scrap quantities and reasons, working with the team to minimize scrap rates. Defines specifications for new equipment purchases or modifications and signs off on qualification and acceptance. Implements process improvements and monitors successful achievement of proposed savings.
- TAT Reduction: Identifies and investigates opportunities for TAT reductions to achieve agreed TAT targets. Implements and monitors the success of TAT improvement initiatives, working closely with other team members.
- Technical Support: Provides technical support to Team members, including dispositioning parts. Provides technical support to Commercial, including defining workscopes. Provides Technical Support to Quality, including investigation of warranty returns. Provides Technical Support to Production, including procurement of equipment and support to Maintenance.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in an Engineering role.
- Ability to understand complex processes involving multiple disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident and effective decision-making abilities.
- A methodical and structured approach to establishing and assessing process stability, ideally with Lean or Six Sigma training.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in solving problems within intricate environments.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing project activities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and expertise in documenting processes.
