Job Purpose

To oversee the production process ensuring productivity, efficiency and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
  • Manage day-to-day production operations including workforce performance, machinery and material flow.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output, efficiency, downtime and scrap rates.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Lead train and motivate the production team to achieve performance targets.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, maintenance and quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on lean manufacturing cost reduction and process optimisation.
  • Responsible for budget planning and management of labour materials and overhead costs.
  • Prepare reports for senior management on production performance and improvement plans.
  • Support new product introductions process changes and implement improvements in mean-time-to-failure/product failure rate.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Good understanding of production planning scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Strong organisational time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to interpret production data and apply analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 5–10 years experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory managerial role.
  • Proven track record of delivering production targets managing teams.
  • Experience in health & safety quality management systems ISO 9001 ISO 14001 etc.
  • Experience in mechanical welding or electronic manufacturing an advantage not essential.
