The Advanced Nurse Practitioner plays a pivotal role as a lead healthcare professional, showcasing accountability and responsibility in their practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive holistic health assessments using evidence-based frameworks to determine diagnoses and inform autonomous advanced nursing care.
- Synthesize and interpret assessment information, particularly history, physical findings, and diagnostic data, to identify normal, at-risk, and subnormal states of health.
- Lead the way in translating new knowledge to clinical practice, educating others, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
- Demonstrate leadership in designing and evaluating services, engaging in health policy development, and contributing to service development through continuous education and research initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- Hold registration in the Advanced Nurse Practitioner division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Register or meet the criteria for registration.
- Have a broad base of clinical experience relevant to the advanced field of practice.
- Demonstrate competences relevant to the specialist area of advanced practice.
Requirements
- Requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and clinical, professional, and administrative capacity.
- Possess a Master's Degree (or higher) in Nursing or a Master's Degree relevant to the advanced field of practice.
