Job Overview
This role involves providing strategic commercial services to the business, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivering value to customer organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review proposals commercially, identifying risks and unacceptable terms.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments in support of bid-no-bid determinations.
- Review proposals for compliance with company policy and acceptable risk standards.
- Lead negotiations effectively with customers and suppliers to ensure robust and enforceable contracts are in place in a timely manner and with acceptable risk.
- Prepare contractual documents such as licenses, agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to allocated departments and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Monitor and review internal processes to ensure they remain robust and updated with company policies and requirements.
- Approve and sign correspondence within contract requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and department managers in the management of projects.
- Evaluate and resolve contractual disputes, including managing variations from receipt to closure and claims processes in an auditable manner.
- Negotiate and mitigate the impact of claims made by subcontractors and/or suppliers.
- Consider new forms of contracts to improve timeliness or efficiency or reduce risk.
- Contribute to the development of strategic objectives and work in implementing them.
- Liaise closely with business development and share market intelligence for the benefit of the organization.
- Foster and develop relations with key personnel within customers and potential customers.
- Attend meetings, prepare presentations, and other tasks as required internally and externally.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline and/or equivalent level of experience.
- Proven experience in effective contract preparation, negotiation, and administration.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in standard office IT tools and comfortable working with contract management and collaboration platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
