Overview of a Key Role

  • The Facilities Operations Manager oversees the efficient and safe operation of power generation facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing regular inspections to ensure facility equipment is functioning properly and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Monitoring plant performance indicators, including efficiency, availability, and reliability, and implementing strategies to optimize performance.
  • Operating and controlling all plant equipment, ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Managing fuel supply logistics to maintain consistent fuel availability and adherence to quality standards.
  • Coordinating with grid operators for power output scheduling, dispatch, and load balancing.
  • Recording and analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement and reporting any anomalies or deviations from standard parameters.
  • Supporting maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
  • Leading the execution of planned shutdowns and responding effectively to unplanned outages.
  • Conducting regular equipment walkdowns and inspections to ensure system integrity and performance.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of operational activities according to OEM procedures and client expectations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • Proven experience operating gas reciprocating engines, with expertise in Wrtsil models.
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems and plant automation technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of power generation principles and grid operations.
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts and respond to operational emergencies as needed.
