Job Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • To implement and manage commercial strategies for the company.
  • Support senior commercial functions by providing assistance in key areas such as tender preparation, subcontractor selection, negotiation, and financial management.

Commercial Support:

  • Prepare tenders, analyze data, select suitable subcontractors, negotiate, and finalize subcontract orders, along with managing finances to completion.
  • Maintain accurate site records and document control.
  • Manage site measurement records.
  • Assist in preparing forecasts, targets, and CVR reconciliations.
  • Conduct valuations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Prepare variations with adequate details and records, agree on works progress.
  • Update projected Final Account, prepare, and submit in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with site management teams to commercially influence and challenge their decisions.
  • Maintain and protect the company's commercial and contractual entitlements.

Risk Management:

  • CVR - Maintain an independent view of the process, understand its implications.
  • Review risks and opportunities.
  • Develop knowledge of insurances and warranties.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective cash management and involvement.
  • Support tender processes as required.
  • Oversee AQS and TQS, checking and taking responsibility for their work.
  • Maintain site records and control documents.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively utilize various technology platforms.
  • Be conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement.
  • Show ownership and commercial awareness.
  • Exhibit effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level, working towards relevant professional accreditation.
  • JCT qualification.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Experience with CVRs.
  • Understanding of contract and commercial principles.
  • CIOB membership or certification.
