Purchasing Assistant Role Overview

The Purchasing Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services. In this position, you will work closely with the Head of Procurement to optimize stock levels and streamline purchasing processes.

">Key Responsibilities">
  • Procurement Management: Place purchase orders for equipment and consumables, tracking order acknowledgments and delivery dates with suppliers.
  • Inventory Optimization: Utilize the A/B/C/D stock holding class system to align inventory levels with business needs, minimizing excess stock.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the phase out of products and introduction of new products, setting up new items and suppliers in SAP.
  • Logistics Coordination: Organize transportation of goods inward, resolving supplier issues and managing customer/supplier returns.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all items meet quality standards, processing invoices and handling related queries.

  • Experience: 1+ years' experience in a similar purchasing role, preferably with ERP/MRP planning systems knowledge, particularly SAP.
  • Skills: Strong numerical skills, competence in Excel/Word, and other reporting tools.
