Conference & Banqueting Manager

The primary objective of this role is to lead a team in delivering exceptional conference and banqueting services in a luxury hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Management: Plan, organize, and manage all conference and banqueting activities from initial client inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure events are executed efficiently and to the highest standards, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Operational Management: Manage room setups, audio-visual needs, catering, and service timelines, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Client Relationship Management: Handle client feedback and manage conflict resolution during and after events, maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the banqueting team to deliver exceptional service, promoting a positive work environment.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, train, and develop staff in conference and banqueting service standards, ensuring high levels of competence.
  • Scheduling and Staffing: Develop staff schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all events.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Maintain strong working relationships with other hotel departments, fostering a collaborative environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a senior conference and banqueting or events management role, ideally in a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
  • Skills: Experience with large-scale event management, including weddings, corporate meetings, and banquets, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Availability: Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating resilience and composure under pressure.
