Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting our company's overall program from a buyer/planner perspective. You will work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations and make informed decisions that impact our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse build plans to determine purchase order quantities, delivery dates, and inventory levels, and place orders accordingly.
  • Negotiate best pricing and lead times with suppliers.
  • Expedite material deliveries to meet build plans as required.
  • Book deliveries onto the purchasing system.
  • Issue materials to production.
  • Maintain a computerised purchasing database, investigate any inventory discrepancies, and resolve any invoice/delivery/receiving issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and establish key performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with R&D on supplier/material selection.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to address material or quality issues and provide feedback to the supplier.
  • Carry out supplier risk assessments to ensure continuous supply of materials.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a professional buying position along with experience in material management.
  • Experience working in a GMP/Medical Device environment.
  • Experience in the purchase and management of different material commodities.
  • Experience in purchasing, supplier relations, material planning, and inventory management.
  • Proficient understanding of MRP.
  • Familiarity with product specifications.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
