Medical Device Buyer and Planner

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Buyer and Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical device procurement, with a proven track record of managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with excellent communication and negotiation skills. They will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyse build plans to determine purchase order quantities, delivery dates and inventory levels.
  • Negotiate best pricing and lead times with suppliers.
  • Expedite material deliveries to meet build plans as required.
  • Manage supplier performance and set up key performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Work with R&D on supplier/material selection.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve material or quality issues.
  • Carry out supplier risk assessments to ensure continuous supply of materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years' experience in a professional buying position.
  • Experience working in a GMP/Medical Device environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
