Opportunity for a Duty Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to manage our checkout department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, supervising a team of staff, and ensuring the smooth running of the area.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Overall management of the checkout department
  • Supervision of a team of staff
  • Rostering for the department's supervisory team
  • Queue management
  • Ensuring all staff have the necessary tools to complete their roles
  • Covering the customer service desk by assisting customers with queries
  • Overseeing the store end of the home delivery service
  • Departmental housekeeping duties
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Staff training and development
  • Stepping in to cover till points at busy times (if needed)

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years experience as a duty manager/supervisor within a retail environment
  • Previous experience working in a similar role would be desirable
  • Must be able to remain calm in a busy environment
  • Must have strong people management skills
  • Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have strong organisational skills
  • Must have staff training & development experience
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
