We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in the Public Sector and Government Services department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with experience in financial reporting framework implementation, MIS design, strategic finance support, risk management, internal audits, and governance compliance.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with business owners and CFOs to provide real-time financial information, providing support and managing relationships for a diverse portfolio of clients, and delivering all aspects of services including bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts.

The role also involves financial reporting, financial analysis, advisory services on internal controls to public sector clients, assisting with statutory VAT reporting, and providing AP, AR, and GL support.

A key aspect of this role is mentoring junior employees on the team and preparing annual statutory financial statements for audit exempt companies.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in preparation of accounts and supporting financial schedules to facilitate group reporting.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 1 year's practice or industry experience
  • Prior Public Sector experience is desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of Xero is desirable but not essential
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to prioritise and plan assignments
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
