Ireland has ambitious renewable energy production targets with significant success in delivering renewable energy projects. The country is a leader in digital technologies, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and ICT infrastructure and devices.

Data centres account for 21% of Ireland's total demand, with 85% of overall electricity demand growth attributed to them. A recent consultation paper by the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU) published the Review of Large Energy User Connection Policy in 2024. Feedback is invited from interested parties until further notice, informing a decision to be published later in the year.
