Senior Regulation Analyst Role

In this pivotal position, you will play a leading role in shaping the forward-looking strategic energy regulatory environment. Your expertise will guide the team in interpreting market and policy regulations, assessing impacts, and identifying opportunities.

The ideal candidate will drive specific projects and work activities driven by regulatory changes across various teams. Strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders are crucial for implementing regulatory and industry rules efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review regulatory and industry consultations to assess impact on the business.
  • Coordinate the development of energy policy positions for ESB Customer Solutions, liaising with key teams and developing policy and response papers.
  • Support ESB Customer Solutions in implementing regulatory and industry rules through strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate collaboration and knowledge sharing across ESB Customer Solutions in relation to regulation and policy positions.
  • Represent ESB Customer Solutions at Industry Fora, discussing and presenting changes that meet the needs of the policy owner and the business.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum 7 years' experience in the energy or wider utilities industry, ideally with previous experience interacting with Regulatory Authorities and representing at industry fora.
  • An appreciation of the regulatory environment and markets that operate in, as well as a good understanding of government and European energy policy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting of response documents to Regulatory Authorities, industry bodies, Government Departments, etc.
  • Excellent analytical capability, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to form relationships at all levels and have strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, including presentation of material to senior management, industry fora, etc.
  • Ability and flexibility to work outside office hours as required by the nature and location of some events. Travel will be required.
