Senior Photonics Packaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Photonics Packaging Group at the Tyndall Institute. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of EU and industry-led projects in advanced photonics packaging.
Main Responsibilities:
- Fiber and micro-optical packaging of photonic devices.
- Testing and alignment of photonic devices to evaluate packaged device performance.
- Development of packaging processes for a range of photonics applications, including automation of assembly and testing steps.
- Modelling of micro-optical and mechanical components.
- Project management and delivery within an ISO-controlled environment.
- Participation in education and public engagement activities, as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- PhD in physics, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Research experience in photonics or in a relevant engineering/applied physics area.
- Strong communication and technical report writing skills.
- Experience presenting research to technical audiences.
