Job Description

The Calibration Technician role is critical to the success of our operations, ensuring that all automated equipment is functioning optimally and meeting test operational goals.

This position works closely with various teams to resolve issues and constraints while implementing safe and robust solutions to improve overall efficiency through improvement projects around run rate increase, cycle time gains, yields and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate calibration records, including calibration data, equipment history, and maintenance logs in a organized and easily accessible manner.
  • Perform calibration and repair of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic test and measurement equipment according to established procedures and standards, adhering to strict quality control measures.
  • Manage and maintain calibration standards and reference equipment, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments promptly, minimizing downtime and its associated costs.
  • Ensure all calibration activities comply with ISO 13485, FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820), and other applicable standards, maintaining a high level of quality and integrity throughout the process.
  • Develop and update calibration procedures and work instructions as needed, collaborating with internal departments to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to schedule calibration activities and minimize equipment downtime, streamlining processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Assist in the procurement and validation of new test and measurement equipment, ensuring it meets our stringent quality and performance standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to calibration activities, providing technical expertise and support as required.
  • Provide technical support and training to other personnel on calibration procedures and equipment operation, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Engineering degree or technical certification in electronics, instrumentation, or a related field, with a strong foundation in mathematical and scientific principles.
  • Proven experience as a Calibration Technician, preferably in a medical device or regulated industry, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of calibration principles, techniques, and standards, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective manner.
  • Proficiency in using calibration software and equipment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 820), and other relevant standards, with a deep understanding of their implications and requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of quality and integrity in all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to the greater good.
