Health Care Assistant Role Overview

About the Job:

This position involves supporting residents with daily personal care and assisting them with mobility, mealtime and other essential tasks. It requires a compassionate and patient individual who can work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support.

  2. Provide mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met.

  3. Monitor residents' health and behavior, reporting any changes to management.

  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of resident care and progress.

  5. Create a safe and clean environment for residents, adhering to health and safety standards.

  6. Offer companionship and emotional support to residents, enhancing their overall well-being.

Requirements:

  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or equivalent) – minimum of 2 modules completed.

  • Previous experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective teamwork.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
