Job Summary

This role involves providing a range of services to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and/or autism. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting service users to live meaningful lives, with a priority focus on equal citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting service users with their daily living activities.
  • Ensuring service users are supported to make sense of their environment, learn new skills and maximise their independence.
  • Accompanying service users to appointments and other events as required.
  • Managing challenging behaviours using a positive behaviour support plan.
  • Providing reports on client activities to management.

Requirements:
  • Permission to work in Ireland.
  • A minimum of a QQI Level 5 major award (8 components / modules) in Health or Social Care or equivalent is required for Support Worker roles.
  • For Social Care Worker roles, a minimum of a B.A. in Social Care, QQI Level 7 PLUS registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU by November 2025 is required.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • One year of experience in a healthcare or social care setting.
  • Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans.

Working Conditions:

Shifts available: Tuesday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm with some flexibility required.


The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned from time to time.
