Electrical Design Expert Opportunity

The HV Stations Designer will play a vital role in ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects during the construction and commissioning phases. They will be responsible for designing high-voltage substations, preparing preliminary health and safety documentation, and conducting design risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project planning, scoping, and costing of electrical designs in High Voltage Substations
  • Preparation of Preliminary health and safety documentation and Design risk assessments
  • Creation of detailed Electrical designs, including Layouts, Schematics & Wiring schedules
  • Compliance with safety legislation and acting as a first point of contact on behalf of the organization for ESB Networks
  • Liaising and coordinating with designers in other disciplines, external contractors, and design teams while maintaining commercial focus
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years electrical experience or equivalent design work experience
  • Proficiency and adaptability in CAD/CAE systems such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Similar
  • Excellent communication skills and general proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • A track record in implementing standards, policies, and quality systems to ensure optimum designs
  • Knowledge of ESB HV network assets and High Voltage Sub-Stations
  • Project management skills
