Station Designer Role

The role is responsible for the design and technical support of High Voltage (HV) sub-station projects.

Key aspects include timely and cost-effective services, planning, scoping, and costing of HV station projects, detailed electrical designs, compliance with safety legislation, and technical support throughout the lifecycle of the stations.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical or equivalent design work is required.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAE Systems, such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • General proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A track record of implementing standards and policies to ensure optimum designs.
  • Knowledge of ESB HV network assets and High Voltage Sub-Stations.
  • Understanding of Quality Management systems and standards.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in the context of HV sub-station design and operation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and be familiar with industry-standard software and tools.
