Electrical Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our engineering team in Kildare, Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering reactive and planned maintenance across the site to ensure production runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine checks and maintenance on plant and equipment to prevent downtime.
  • Install, commission, and troubleshoot electrical systems and machinery.
  • Perform basic programming and diagnostics on PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Schneider).
  • Troubleshoot issues with electrical control systems using expertise in motor control systems, pneumatics, process temperature controls, and PLC/PC control systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maximise uptime and minimise downtime across production and utility systems.
  • Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance programs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, GMP, and LOTO procedures.

Requirements:

  • Time-served Electrician or a third-level Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, both reactive and planned.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including motor control systems, pneumatics, process temperature controls, and PLC/PC control systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and troubleshooting electrical faults.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (BRC, ISO).
  • Hands-on problem solver with strong communication skills.
  • Flexible to work rotating day and evening shifts and participate in the on-call rota.
