Job Title: Cheesemonger
About the Role:We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable professional to fill a key role within our organization. As a cheesemonger, you will be responsible for sharing your expertise with customers, educating them about artisan cheese, and connecting producers with consumers.
Key Responsibilities:- Liaise with suppliers to receive product deliveries and organize storage in designated areas.
- Maintain high-quality standards by merchandising and displaying cheese and other items in the retail space.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assist with queries, and educate customers about our products.
- Assist customers with the use of our website and maintain food safety standards required for a safe food environment.
- Participate in stock rotation, stock control, and quarterly stocktaking to ensure products are sold before expiration.
- At least one year's experience working in a similar retail setting or equivalent knowledge of artisan cheese.
- HACCP training or awareness of HACCP/Food Safety in retail.
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently, and strong conversation and listening skills.
- Possess a passion for great customer service and excellent communication skills.
- Organized and calm under pressure.
