Senior Research Economist - Sustainable Agricultural Economics

We are seeking a Senior Research Economist to fill this key role in our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sustainable agricultural economics and will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to inform policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting economic analysis of agricultural systems to identify opportunities for improvement, develop strategies to enhance sustainability, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Designing and implementing research projects to investigate the impacts of sustainability practices on agricultural productivity and profitability, with a focus on evidence-based decision making.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement policies that promote sustainable agriculture, foster industry partnerships, and support policy implementation.
  • Presenting research findings to policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders, utilizing clear and compelling communication skills.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Economics or a related field, with a strong foundation in econometric methods and statistical analysis.
  • Substantial experience in sustainable agricultural economics, including a deep understanding of the complex relationships between agriculture, environment, and society.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to design and implement studies, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both orally and in writing, and to engage with diverse audiences.
