About the Role
As a CNS MHID, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex needs. You will work collaboratively with the MDT team to develop and implement individualised care plans, promote independence, and enhance the overall quality of life for service users.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct specialist nursing care to individuals with dual diagnosis.

• Collaborate with the MDT team to develop and implement individualised care plans.

• Promote independence and self-advocacy among service users.

• Work closely with families and carers to ensure seamless transitions and coordinated care.

• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.


Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A registered RNID or RPN on the NMBI register of Nurses and Midwives.
  • A minimum of three years post-registration experience, with two years in the specialised MHID area.
  • Formal recognised post-registration education in Mental Health, Positive Behaviour Support, or a related area at Higher Diploma level or equivalent (level 8) on the NQAI framework.
  • Demonstrable evidence of continuing professional development.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health and the various healthcare needs of people with intellectual disability.
