Job Title:

Support Worker

About the Role:

This is a key-working caring role for a group of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of personal care, including meals and personal hygiene. Additionally, they will assist in development on individual plans and achievement of associated outcomes. Community participation and integration are also critical components of this role.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a good general education and a recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course. A full, clean, manual Irish Driving Licence is desirable. Assistance will be given towards obtaining a Class D1 Driving Licence.

Experience:

Experience working with individuals with an intellectual disability and challenging behaviour is desirable. Full training will be provided.

Skills:

Candidates must demonstrate flexibility, communication, and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post.

Working Hours:

Up to 39 hours per week based on a 7 day/night duty roster. Successful candidates will be called if and when required and will be required to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, public holidays, night duty, sleep-ins, and irregularly.

Annual Leave:

22 days pro rata per annum, i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked.

Remuneration:

€32,699 x 11 increments - €45,190 (Max) pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) €45,984 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.

Tenure:

A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
