The role of Flood and Coastal Risk Officer Grade II involves the assessment and management of flood risk to minimize its impact on communities and the environment. This is a mid-senior level position that requires expertise in civil engineering, geography, or geoscience.

About the Role:

Flood and Coastal Risk Officers Grade II will typically report to an Engineer Grade I and work with support staff such as Engineers Grade III or Flood and Coastal Risk Officers Grade III. They may also be required to supervise operational staff in their assigned section.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flood risk assessment and management
  • Hydrology and hydrological analysis
  • Hydrometric data collection and processing
  • River engineering, hydraulics, and flood mapping
  • Coastal processes and analysis

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must have a qualification at minimum Level 8 (honours bachelor's degree) on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent in one of the specified disciplines. A minimum of four years relevant post-qualification experience in at least two of the mentioned areas is also required.
