Job Overview

The role of a Scheme Manager involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a scheme, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents. This includes creating an environment that fosters mutual support among tenants, identifying their support needs, and participating in planning to meet those needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Administrative duties include managing the scheme's administration, maintenance, and upkeep according to established standards and procedures.
  • Daily contact with tenants is essential, including responding to emergencies and providing necessary assistance.
  • SUPPORT NEEDS: Recognizing and reporting tenant needs to relevant agencies, participating in support planning, and offering hands-on assistance when required.
  • Evaluating potential tenants' support needs and developing plans for their care.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness and appropriateness of care and support services.
  • Welcome new tenants and introduce them to available services and facilities.
  • Line manage staff employed within the scheme, providing training as needed.
  • Completing administrative tasks according to the Scheme Managers Handbook.
  • Collections of rent, reconciliation, and lodgment according to established policy.
  • Managing TV licensing funds and conducting fire drills as recommended by local authorities.
  • Fostering social activities among tenants and other organizations working with older individuals.
  • Maintenance and repair of the scheme in accordance with established procedures.
  • Supervising common area cleaning and gardening services.
  • Participation in warden link groups, training meetings, and conferences.
  • Providing coverage for other Scheme Managers when needed.
