Job Overview:

This role oversees the Breeding Programme, ensuring the health and well-being of dogs. The programme involves monitoring, managing, and caring for dogs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the day-to-day running of the Breeding Programme, including safe transportation of dogs to veterinary clinics and regular contact with breeding stock volunteers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer roles within the Breeding Programme.
  • Plan and complete dog movements/transportation to meet production and welfare needs.
  • Provide accurate feedback to the Dog Care and Breeding Manager regarding puppy health diagnosis and behaviour phenotypes.
  • Ensure scheduled health check-ups are carried out with all breeding dogs and puppies.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding decisions related to pups and dogs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience as a veterinary nurse, registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
  • Certificate in animal welfare, dog handling, or equivalent.
  • Experience in animal breeding and canine whelping.
  • Ability to demonstrate aptitude for dog handling/management.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
