Senior Dietitian Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dietitian to join our team. As a key member of the dietetics team, you will provide autonomous and comprehensive patient care using your professional judgment to make critical decisions.

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent assessments of patients creating and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Use your expertise to develop and document treatment plans and goals for each patient.
  • Actively monitor patient progress assessing responses to treatment plans during follow-up visits.
  • Lead in patient and staff education providing essential nutrition education to patients and serving as a resource for other medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records adhering to hospital policies.
Departmental and Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Drive departmental growth and innovation developing and leading project proposals and new programs as requested by the Dietitian Manager.
  • Act as a mentor and leader providing guidance and leadership to junior dietitians and participating in clinical supervision and coaching.
  • Contribute to policy and quality improvement reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Commit to continuous professional development (CPD) staying current with the latest professional practices through courses seminars and research.
  • Support the future of the profession taking a lead role in developing the hospital as a key training site for undergraduate and postgraduate dietetics students.

Requirements: BSc in Human Nutrition & Dietetics from University of Dublin or equivalent minimum 3 years post graduate experience CORU registered sensitivity to patient needs excellent interpersonal and communication skills ability to work independently and contribute to departmental policy and procedure development.
