Power System Operations Role

We are a leading team behind Ireland's electricity grid, operating with world-class levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation.

Our purpose is to transform the power system, enabling our society to reduce carbon emissions and meet climate change and net zero ambitions.

The Operations and Asset Management Office plays a central role in delivering our primary objective – the operation, development, and enhancement of the power system and the wholesale electricity market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing operational systems, tools, system services, standards, and operational policies required for power system operation and integrating new technologies and innovations.
  • Managing asset operations and commercial activities for a safe, reliable East West Interconnector between Ireland and Great Britain, aligning with customer and market requirements.

Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering or equivalent, with at least 4 years' experience in power system operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team, defining and guiding own work under minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable handling large data sets, able to analyze data to find meaningful conclusions.
