About the Job

Role Overview

This role involves designing and developing data center infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, bulk earthworks, and retaining walls.

The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of all aspects of civil engineering, including but not limited to; roads design, drainage systems, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, slope stability. Experience managing a team of designers to deliver packages to milestone dates is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review civil engineering designs for data centers.
  • Manage the portfolio of data center designs and features.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for AWS DC design projects, including reviewing civil engineering designs and evaluating design options.
Requirements:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer in Ireland or equivalent overseas accreditation.
  • 6-8 years of experience in civil engineering design for industrial, warehouse, or commercial projects.
A Day in the Life:

As a Data Center Civil Engineer, you will lead designs for AWS DCs in our Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) geography and impact other projects around the world. You will work on multiple data center build and capital investment projects simultaneously and travel for site assessments, consultant selection activities, internal design meetings, construction review, interface with AHJs, design consultants, quantity surveyors, and building owners.
