Job Title

This senior leadership role involves overseeing large-scale transport operations, driving efficiency improvements, and leading high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure day-to-day transport operations are delivered on-time, safely, and cost-effectively.
  • Oversee fleet performance, vehicle utilisation, maintenance, and route efficiency across multiple sectors.
  • Maintain full compliance with industry regulations and requirements as required by customers.
  • Develop and manage teams for Transport, Planning, Customs, and Customer Service.
  • Set clear KPIs and accountability standards for performance and conduct.
  • Promote a results-driven culture focused on teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients across all business areas.
  • Collaborate with the sales and commercial team to identify new business opportunities.
  • Lead contract implementation and service level reviews with key accounts.
  • Manage operational budgets, including P&L ownership, cost control, and efficiency optimisation.
  • Analyse operational data to inform decisions, improve margins, and enhance customer experience.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a senior management role within a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience managing operations in multiple industries.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including SLAs and KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Forward-thinking with the ability to lead change and scale operations.
  • Hands-on operator with strong commercial judgement.
  • Resilient and capable of navigating complex customer demands.
  • Background in manufacturing, FMCG, distribution, or supply chain sectors with transferable skills to transport and logistics.
  • Track record of delivering operational efficiencies, cost reductions, and performance improvements.
