Reinsurance Broker Role

A leading insurance broker in Dublin is seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Broker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional with a background in broking or underwriting and a strong technical understanding across property, liability/casualty, energy, specialist lines or reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of reinsurance clients, providing tailored solutions and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Lead or support the placement of reinsurance programmes across various lines, including property, liability, energy and other specialist sectors.
  • Liaise closely with underwriters, clients and global reinsurance markets to negotiate terms and structure coverage.
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to new business opportunities, proposals and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Support the ongoing development of internal processes, placement documentation and technical delivery standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, submissions and reports in line with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across other lines and teams on complex or multinational placements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a reinsurance, broking or underwriting environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of at least one of: property, casualty, energy, specialist lines or treaty/facultative reinsurance.
  • Proven experience engaging with clients and building strong relationships.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to contribute to business development activities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of placement documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative and client-focused environment.
