Machining Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Machining Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production process, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining multi-axis CNC machinery to produce high-quality component parts.

You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that all components meet the required specifications and tolerances. Your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions will be essential in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain multi-axis CNC machinery to produce high-quality component parts
  • Work closely with engineering team to ensure components meet required specifications and tolerances
  • Assist with part prove outs and machine alignments
  • Ensure finished work conforms to engineering requirements
  • Plan cost-effective method to produce components to drawing requirements
  • Perform weekly TPM checks
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised mechanical apprenticeship and at least 1 year's relevant post-apprenticeship machining experience within the last 5 years or NVQ3 plus 5 years of relevant experience including at least 1 year's relevant machining experience within the last 5 years
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other related technical documentation
  • An understanding of CNC programming, 5-axis machine kinematics and Siemens 840 D/Fanuc controllers would be advantageous
