Job Title: Financial Accounting Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and take ownership of core accounting processes while providing strategic insight and guidance to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly management reporting packs.
  • Take ownership of general ledger integrity, ensuring best practice controls are in place.
  • Support and challenge budget holders with insightful analysis to aid decision-making.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards for statutory audit preparation.
  • Oversee tax compliance activities, including VAT and Intrastat filings.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within Finance to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and support junior finance colleagues.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, and commercial teams to ensure finance is embedded in business decisions.

About You:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 4–6+ years' post-qualification experience in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to both practice and industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS/FRS 102.
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate financial information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to take initiative and lead projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP B1, and reporting tools, like DataRails and Power BI.
