Power Plant Operator

We are seeking a skilled Power Plant Operator to join our team. As a Shift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment.
Your primary duties will include maintaining safety and environmental standards, recording data, inspecting equipment, performing minor maintenance, and reporting malfunctions.
You will also be responsible for understanding process variables, controlling and troubleshooting them, responding to abnormal conditions or emergencies, handling waste and ash, keeping areas clean, performing chemistry testing, and overseeing chemical loading.
In addition, you will participate in plant cleaning and support maintenance activities, train as a Control Room Operator, and assist in developing operational procedures.
You will work effectively in a team, take ownership of processes, and drive troubleshooting and improvements.
Maintaining cleanliness and safety in work areas is crucial to your success in this role.
Requirements:
- A Leaving Certificate is required; engineering qualifications are advantageous; experience with steam plants or heavy machinery preferred.
- The ability to read technical documents and communicate effectively is essential.
- You should possess mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- You must be able to follow detailed instructions.
- A CSCS card for Forklift/MEWP is beneficial.
- Ability to act safely and prevent damage or injury during emergencies.
