Dawn Meats Group, a leading beef and lamb processing company, is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join its Grannagh Finance team in 2025.

Applicants must have already graduated and be available to start in 2025.

Role Overview

Job Title: Trainee Accountant

Reporting To: Financial Controller

Location: Grannagh, Co. Waterford

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a wide variety of projects/tasks within the site Finance department.
  • Prepare and complete weekly management accounts and manufacturing based analysis.
  • Prepare monthly financial accounts including areas such as capital, costs and returns.
  • Provide analysis and decision support to the commercial and operations teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for the management team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of the site Finance function.
  • Support the Financial Controller as required on reporting and adhoc queries, including specific project assignments.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Recently graduated with a minimum level 7 qualification in Accounting and Finance, Business studies or similar.
  • Ambition and commitment to study towards gaining an accountancy qualification.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, commitment and a positive attitude.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Record of high achievement and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
