Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist who has training and experience in administering cognitive assessments to join our teams at child development centres. The Psychologist will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural functioning of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilising evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated and holistic care for clients.
  • Offer consultation and support to parents, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate understanding of developmental and psychological issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An undergraduate degree in psychology with first or second-class honours, where psychology is taken as a major subject.
  • A postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • At least 60 days of supervised clinical placements in appropriate health settings in both areas of Child Disability and Child Psychology.
  • Registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) as a Chartered Psychologist.
  • Minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice, preferably working with children and adolescents.
