Job Description

As a seasoned Software/Data Architect, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of a modern automated data platform. Your expertise will encompass setting standards, choosing tools, reviewing designs, and leading a small team to build reliable, scalable data pipelines and services.

The role requires strong hands-on engineering skills in Python/PySpark, designing pipelines, and embedding CI/CD practices. Additionally, you will mentor and guide other engineers, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.

You will also be responsible for security ownership, particularly around AWS IAM roles and least privilege access. Furthermore, you will contribute to governance through data models, metadata, documentation, and standards.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration with global colleagues, requiring effective communication of designs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • AWS data stack experience, with hands-on knowledge of Glue, Airflow/MWAA, Athena, Redshift, RDS, and S3.
  • Strong coding skills in Python & PySpark/Pandas & SQL.
  • Certification in CI/CD automation using AWS CodePipeline and CloudFormation (infrastructure as code).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior/lead role, with architect-level expertise.
  • A security-first mindset, with a solid understanding of IAM roles/policies and AWS security best practices.
