Accountant - Shared Service Centre

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Accountant to join our client's growing Shared Service Centre in Cork. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of all related transactions, supporting internal and external accounting guidelines.

Key responsibilities include creating and posting General Ledger journals, managing monthly US GAAP reporting, and preparing relevant balance sheet account reconciliations. You will also handle large volumes of data, analyze it, and manage manual recharges. Additionally, you will take full responsibility for several balance sheet account reconciliations and intercompany balances, ensure all intercompany transactions are supported by agreements, and participate in Sarbanes-Oxley requirements across the Shared Service Centre.

You will deliver excellent customer service by partnering with key business unit finance staff and maintaining high-quality service levels. This includes upholding professional relationships within the SSC and with the outsourced team, participating in key SSC projects and initiatives, and contributing to achieving service-level performance targets.

The successful candidate will be a Fully Qualified Accountant with statutory accounts and audit experience. They should have Sarbanes-Oxley and ERP systems experience, a proven track record in business partnership, and high-volume reconciliation experience. Essential skills and qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of GA processes and procedures, strong analytical skills, and full proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

A good attendance and timekeeping record, technical competence, and fluency in English are also required. The ideal candidate will adopt a positive approach to problem-solving with financial and commercial awareness.
