Fisheries Protection Specialist

The Conservation Officer position plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources. It entails the implementation and enforcement of provisions related to these vital assets.
Main Responsibilities- Regularly patrol lakes, rivers, sea, coast, and estuaries to detect and prevent illegal fishing activities.
- Protect and conserve spring salmon / grilse runs in all rivers across the country.
- Identify and address instances of illegal netting in rivers and the sea, ensuring compliance with Irish Fisheries Legislation.
- Contribute to the conservation and protection of bass and bluefin tuna fisheries.
- Participate in habitat improvement schemes aimed at enhancing fisheries access and infrastructure.
- Nurture relationships with relevant stakeholders through effective communication.
- A minimum of a Leaving Certificate (Level 5 NFQ) or an equivalent qualification.
- A valid full Category B driving licence that is recognized in Ireland.
- No convictions under the Irish Fisheries Legislation are acceptable.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team working towards protecting and preserving Ireland's natural resources.
